Kinchina Planting Day 2026
Activity From the Mulgundawa to Tungkillo Biodiversity Links Project
It was all hands (and boots!) on deck last week at Kinchina Conservation Park for our annual planting day as part of the Mulgundawa to Tungkillo Biodiversity Links project.
With a welcome sprinkle of rain, gloves on and mattocks at the ready, our team planted 750 seedlings, focusing on infill planting and expanding previous years’ revegetation efforts.
It was especially heartening to see last year’s Monarto mintbush (Prostanthera eurybioides) thriving inside their wire guards. This nationally endangered species is just one of the rare and threatened plants being reintroduced into habitat through this project - and we’re sure you’ll agree, it’s a beauty.
The day was also a wonderful opportunity to welcome new members of our on-ground works crew, who are just as enthusiastic as we are to get this season’s plantings underway.
A big thank you to Ash and Andre from National Parks and Wildlife Service South Australia for joining us, and to our incredible nursery volunteers for helping grow the plants that make projects like this possible.
This project is supported by the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board through funding from the landscape levies.
