From Conversations to Conservation…Out in the Field with Leah and Ky

It all starts with a conversation…

This week, our Project Officers Leah and Ky have been visiting a potential new landholder to learn about their vision for the land and explore opportunities to restore biodiversity together…

So what happens during a property visit?

✔️ Chatting with landholders about their vision for the property and how it aligns with project outcomes and funding
✔️ Walking the land to understand past and current land use, and identify opportunities to restore biodiversity
✔️ Conducting an initial flora survey - a crucial step in understanding what species are already thriving and what’s needed to build diverse habitat
✔️ Providing follow-up technical advice and support to inspire positive land management actions for biodiversity

We’re incredibly grateful to all our landholders, past and present - many of whom we’ve worked alongside for years. Strong, positive relationships are at the heart of everything we do, and are fundamental to our mission: working collaboratively with local communities and partners to protect and restore biodiversity and sustainably manage natural resources.
