Our cuttings bench at Alexandrina Nursery is looking a little… FULL!
If you peeked into our Goolwa nursery this week, you’d see a cuttings bench working overtime
Right now, we’re growing 3,000 🌱 of Goodenia ovata for a local conservation park (pictured) - and that’s just one species! Propagation work is well and truly underway as we start off trays of tiny green potential.
We’re also nurturing some very special plants for our revegetation projects, including the rare and threatened:
✨ Olearia passerinoides subsp. Glutescens
✨ Prostanthera behriana (Downy mint-bush)
But that’s not all… we’re also propagating the rare and endangered Correa alba var. pannosa, alongside Correa glabra var. turnbullii (pictured). Hundreds of turnbullii will soon be planted at Kanmantoo - restoring habitat, strengthening biodiversity, and returning this locally significant species to the landscape where it truly belongs.
It’s careful, patient and skilled work… snip by snip, tray by tray. But every cutting represents habitat restored, pollinators supported, and ecosystems strengthened.
Next time you see a thriving revegetation site, just imagine the busy bench behind the scenes making it all possible!
