Strathalbyn ELC incursion visit
Meet the next generation of little conservationists!
Recently our Community Engagement Officer Sarah popped into YMCA ELC in Strathalbyn for a very special butterfly gardening adventure.
We talked about butterflies, pollinators and the kinds of plants they need to thrive — then it was time to get our hands dirty!
There were lots of little hands digging, planting, watering and giving those tiny native seedlings plenty of care.
The children have now got their very own pollinator garden to watch grow, with the hope that it will soon become a buzzing, fluttering little haven for butterflies, bees and other garden visitors.
A huge thank you to Cassie and the YMCA ELC team for welcoming us, and to our wonderful volunteers at Mount Barker Community Nursery for growing the native seedlings.
Who knows… we might have some future nature champions in the making!
