Mount Barker Wildlife Gardening Native Plant Packs

Mount Barker Wildlife Gardening is an annual project to encourage residents of the Mount Barker District Council to plant local native species in their gardens.

Packs of 20 local native plants are available for $25, subsidised by Mount Barker Council. The species are selected for their biodiversity value and suitability for the home garden. Packs are limited and always sell out, so be quick!

You will receive a pre-packaged selection of species which may include grasses, sedges, groundcovers, and small to medium shrubs. Examples of species in the 2025 packs include Atriplex semibaccata (Berry saltbush), Hardenbergia violacea (Native Wisteria) and Themeda triandra (Kangaroo Grass). Please note, due to the volume of plants we are unable to swap species. You can download the species list HERE.

100 Springs Road Mount Barker - next to Laratinga Pavilion

Please note, this will be the only location that plants can be collected from, and we are unable to deliver plants in the event of non-collection.

Resources about how to care for your seedlings, wildlife gardening and sustainable garden design are all available for free, the project also has its own Facebook page which regularly shares information such as planting tips and events.

All plants are propagated and raised at the Mount Barker Community Nursery supported by a wonderful group of volunteers.
