An Interactive Walk & Talk From The Nature Eduction Project
Come and join us for a workshop with Andrew Crompton, an expert on the grasses that are indigenous to South Australia.
This workshop is aimed at people with little knowledge about native grasses. In particular, new property owners or volunteers in local bushcare groups will benefit from this workshop.
Attendees will receive a copy of Andrews guide book, the updated 'Common Native Grasses' to take home.
This event is supported by Green Adelaide.
Event Details…
We will meet at Andrews property Possum Park, just out of Mount Barker. The session will be divided into two parts…
Part One - An overview of native grasses in our area.
What are native grasses? Why are they so important? How do they differ to introduced species?
How can I tell if I have native grasses on my property and, what does it mean if I do?
How can I care for them and encourage them to spread?
Part Two - A closer look.
Look closer at some local common native grasses as well as some common, introduced grasses
Bring along a sample for identification - please ensure any samples are in a zip-lock bag or similar, to avoid transportation of possible weeds.
Helpful resources - where you can go for more information if you want it.
Please arrive at 9.15am for a 9.30am start. Prior to this workshop, you will receive an email with address details.
Morning tea provided.
