🌱 From seed to habitat – expertise and community 🌱

Spring is always a busy time at the Second Nature Community Nurseries, with managers Ben and Sam leading the way in sowing for the season ahead.

With decades of combined experience in plant identification, seed collection and propagation - including rare, difficult-to-propagate and threatened species - Ben and Sam bring an exceptional level of expertise to our nurseries. Their commitment to continuous professional development ensures our processes are always improving for efficient, highest-quality plant production. We pride ourselves on best-practice nursery management, maintaining rigorous hygiene standards to minimise the risk of disease in the nursery environment and prevent transfer into project sites. This level of care is critical when reconstructing vital habitat.

All this work couldn’t be done without the ongoing dedication of our volunteers, to every one of you…thank you.

This project received funding through the local provenance plant nursery component of the Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife Landscape Resilience program
