Connecting Communities & Landscapes
Activity From Mulgundawa to Tungkillo Biodiversity Links Project
Last weekend, our Project Officer Leah attended the Rockleigh Muster, a fantastic community gathering, where she presented on one of our current projects: Mulgundawa to Tungkillo Biodiversity Links.
Leah had some great conversations with local landholders interested in exploring revegetation options and practical advice for their properties. These conversations are so important - raising awareness and building community connections are a big part of what this project is all about.
The Rockleigh Muster…a great community gathering
✨ What we’re working on:
🌱 Partnering with 25 landholders to restore and reconnect habitat
🌳 Planting 6,500 local provenance seedlings, including 900 seedlings of conservation-significant species
🪶 Supporting threatened fauna such as the Diamond Firetail through habitat creation and management
🌏 Building on over 5 years of restoration work in the Monarto region, expanding vital habitat linkages across the landscape
Together, these efforts are helping to improve connectivity, provide food and shelter for wildlife, and strengthen the resilience of our local environment - while also bringing community members together to be part of the change.
Stay tuned for more updates and photos as this important project grows! 💚
This project is supported by the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board through funding from the landscape levies.
