Tastes of Country: Bush Foods & Native Teas

  • Mount Barker Community Library Dumas Street Mount Barker, SA, 5251 Australia (map)

A Workshop From The Nature Education Project

Join us for a hands-on cultural workshop exploring the rich flavours, knowledge and uses of Australian bush foods and native teas.

You will learn about and taste nine different bush foods, gaining insight into their health benefits, cultural uses (where known), practical ways to use them in everyday cooking, and tips on how to grow these plants at home.

The workshop will also explore seven native teas, covering their benefits and cultural significance. You will then have the opportunity to create and blend your own native tea, which you can take home to enjoy.

This workshop is facilitated by Cate from Kaiyu Superfoods, alongside Shanna and Leanne, both First Nations women, who will share knowledge, stories and practical guidance throughout the session.

This is a relaxed, interactive experience designed to deepen understanding of native plants, their cultural importance, and how they can be respectfully used and grown today.

🌿 All tastings and materials are provided.
☕ Includes a custom tea blend to take home.
