    1. “Greening Seawalls” Stakeholder Workshop

    2. Sydney Institute of Marine Science

    3. Researchers from the Sydney Institute of Marine Science, Macquarie University and the University of New South Wales are working on the “Living Seawalls Project”. Artificial structures, like seawalls, typically support lower marine diversity than natural habitats such as the beautiful sandstone cliffs of the eastern suburbs. The Living Seawalls Project involves trialing new approaches to ‘greening’ seawalls such as attaching 3D structures to existing seawalls to provide more space and habitats for marine plants and animals. One of the goals of our project is to assess stakeholder opinions of proposed new methods and designs for ‘greening’ seawalls. We are hosting two 3-hour workshops to assess stakeholder opinions. During the workshops, we will explain some of our proposed new initiatives, and participants will have the opportunity to provide their opinion through group and individual activities, which involve brainstorming some of the benefits and risks of these and rating alternative approaches. We warmly invite you to attend one of these workshops and share your thoughts about the proposed research.

Film & Feast: Symposium Awakening the Dreamer

Transition Bondi is hosting a workshop that offers you an opportunity to engage your head, heart and hands to bring forth an environmentally sustainable, socially just, and spiritually fulfilled human presence on this planet.

Through dynamic group interactions, leading edge information, and inspiring multimedia, you will be invited to reconnect with your deep concern for our world, and be inspired and empowered to make a difference.

The Pachamama Alliance created this Symposium in 2005. It is an educational experience designed to change the collective ‘dream of the modern world’ from one rooted in consumption and competition to one of sustainability, justice and fulfillment for all. It has spread around the world, inspiring each of us to find our role in creating a thriving, just and sustainable world.

    Watch the trailer:

Alongside the symposium, we’ll enjoy a delicious, plant-based, 3-course meal prepared by our amazing volunteer cooks. Meet like-minded people and learn how we can transition to a more sustainable Bondi.
