There are plenty of ways schools can make sustainability second nature. Here are our top programs to help you.

Solar My School

Solar my School is a free Council program to help local schools install solar power. It provides independent support and guidance to primary and secondary schools from start to finish so they can power their buildings with cheap green energy.

Eastern Suburbs Sustainable Schools Network

Join this teachers’ network for schools and early learning centres. We meet each school term and feature a school sustainability topic with guest speaker and workshop activities.

National Tree Day Seedlings

Each July we can provide native seedlings to schools to help them engage children in caring for nature and to create important habitat on school grounds. Email in June to secure your seedlings and for more details.

Recycling Resources  We can provide your school with bin stickers, posters, how to guides and set up advice. Email us.

Would you like to improve recycling at your school and inspire students to become ‘Waste Warriors’? Join this free Council program to help your school sort it!

Got a great idea for an environmental project but you don’t have the funds to pay for it? You might be eligible for funding with a Waverley Council Environmental Grant! Money is available to local schools, childcare centres and local micro-businesses for environmental improvement projects and initiatives that benefit our ‘hood.
