Join Plastic Free Bronte and Sydney Water at their Beat the Bottle event at Bronte Beach, Sunday 3 February.
Alongside volunteers and other community members at Bronte Beach Park, you'll enjoy the beats of performers Junkyard Beats, while picking up litter and raising awareness of the impact of plastics on our beaches, oceans and waterways.
Emily Albert, chair of Plastic Free Bronte says, “The most common types of plastic waste we see on our beaches are cigarette butts, plastic straws, plastic bottles, plastic bags and coffee cups.
We hope that involving the community during the clean-up will bring more awareness to the issue and inspire people to ‘be the change’ that they wish to see for our oceans.”
Date: 3 February 2019
Place: Bronte Beach Park, Bronte NSW
What else can you do?
"The easiest way to reduce plastic bottle pollution in our waterways and beaches is to refuse single use plastics and always choose to reuse and refill", says Emily.
Plastic Free Bronte is a group of passionate volunteers with support from Waverley Council and Bronte Surf Lifesaving Club.
